Stowe Mountain Biking Trails
Cottonbrook, the first marked mountain biking trail on Vermont state land is in Stowe. The trail was built as a joint project between the Town of Stowe and the Vermont Trails & Greenways Council. Old County Road, Stowe Hollow and Brownsville are other sanctioned mountain-bike trails. The Stowe Mountain Bike Club is a dedicated and committed to preserving, protecting and maintaining the local trail network.
Stowe Bike Park
In 2009 the bike club has built a great new bike park with jumps and a variety of tracks. You will find the park located near the Stowe Polo Fields.
Stowe Recreation Path
For those who want a go at their own pace, a favorite bicycle ride is on Stowe's award-winning Recreation Path. With over 5 miles of paved bike path starting in Stowe Village, the path winds its way through forests, farm fields replete with cows and meadows. The path crosses the river nearly a dozen times on wooden bridges. Several shops, lodges, and restaurants either along the path or a short distance away from the path.
Cycling on the Roads in Stowe
Cyclists can ride on 103 miles of road without leaving Stowe--29 miles are paved & 74 miles are unpaved for relatively easy mountain bike enjoyment.
Stowe Bike Rentals
Rental bicycles are available from several shops on or near Stowe's Recreation Path including A.J.'s Ski & Sports, Boots 'n Boards, the Nordic Barn, and Pinnacle Ski & Sports.
