Never admit to being old; just say you are classic!

The Annual Antique & Classic Car Meet is one of the oldest collector vehicle events in New England, showcasing classic and antique cars, trucks, street rods, military vehicles and more.

Thousands of car automobile lovers will gather in Stowe to “ooh” and judge vintage automobiles and shop the huge flea market and car corral (where collector cars are grouped for sale).

The “Stowe Show,” as it’s commonly called, is fun for all ages and a must-do activity if you will be in the Stowe area or have an interest in cool cars.

With nearly 800 vehicles, the event has continued to grow and the Vermont Chamber of Commerce recently listed it as one of the top 10 summer events in Vermont.

Providing both a glimpse of the past and a history of where automobiles are today, visitors can look forward to:

  • Antique and classic cars on display
  • Food concessions
  • Flea market and car corral
  • Vintage fashion judging
  • Vermont crafters
  • Valve cover racing
  • Antique car parade through downtown Stowe
  • Street dance in Stowe Village
  • Automobile judging/awards ceremony

The event is located on Nichols Field on Route 100, just south of Stowe and takes place rain or shine! Check out the official schedule for more information.

The three-day event would not be complete without the Street Dance and Block Party in Stowe Village on Saturday, from 7 to 10 p.m. Rock-and-roll music will provide the backdrop for a closed off Main Street lined with parked cars, vendors and a gathering of sock-hop inspired dance moves.

On Sunday, all show vehicles will be on Nichols Field for the judges to choose the top three for each class and present awards.

The Vermont Automobile Enthusiasts, Inc. said it best with: “Year after year, thousands of classic car aficionados return to tour miles of alluring back roads and enjoy all the other activities offered in our iconic town.”

Show hours are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is $10 per person, $8 for seniors (60 and over) and free for children 12 and under.

With a host of summer events like the Car Show, visitors and residents can partake in something different every weekend; the Stowe area is transformed into an outdoor playground for countless festivities, theater, music and, of course, car shows! (Don’t miss the British Invasion in September!) So if you are in the market for Stowe VT real estate, be sure to come visit during one of these great events!
